Generate & Run

Once your columns are configured with tools, you can trigger value generation at different levels depending on what you need to process.

Generation levels

Column level

Open the column menu and click Generate values to process all cells in the column at once. Use this when you want to run a tool across every row: for example, after importing a batch of new data.

Row level

Click Generate row to process all tool-equipped columns for a single row. This is useful when you've added a new row and want to generate all its values in one action.

Cell level

Right-click a cell and select Regenerate to generate or regenerate the value of a single cell. Use this to retry a failed generation or to refresh a specific result after changing the tool configuration.

Execution order

When generating at the row or column level, tools execute in column order (left to right). This matters when columns reference each other — make sure source columns are placed before the columns that depend on them.

Status indicators

Each cell shows a status indicator during and after generation:

  • Pending — The cell is queued for processing
  • Running — The tool is currently executing
  • Completed — The value was generated successfully
  • Error — The tool encountered an issue; check the cell for details
